Completion of the University Writing Portfolio is a requirement for graduation at Washington State University. Beginning in the fall term of 2020, students will submit their University Writing Portfolio (UWP) online rather than with printed copies and in-person.

This assessment is used to identify students who demonstrate a need for structured writing support with upper-division writing requirements, as well as recognize the standard of writing expected of all WSU graduates.

Washington State University considers the SAT Essay/ACT Writing section optional and may not include it as part of their admissions consideration. You don't need to worry too much about Writing for this school, but other schools you're applying to may require it. Schools vary in their SAT subject test requirements.
